Events and Shows

The annual Elkhorn Valley Antique Power Association tractor display show is held each year on the last full weekend in September. Currently it is held on the grounds of the popular Omaha area entertainment site, Vala’s Pumpkin Patch, near Gretna, Nebraska. The public is invited to the two-day (Saturday and Sunday) event. There is a small gate admission fee for all non-member attendees that allows interested persons of all ages to enjoy both the tractor display show and the entertainment activities at Vala’s Pumpkin Patch. The tractor show includes a parade,  a show-and-tell program by equipment owners and some fun and frolic tractor games.

The 2008 Elkhorn Valley Antique Power Assn. Display Show will be held on September 27 & 28 at Vala’s Pumpkin Patch, 12102 So. 180th St., Gretna, NE. (This location is just 3 miles west and 11/2 miles south of the exit of Hiway 370 & Interstate 80 or 4 miles east and 1 1/2 miles south of Gretna).  International Harvestor tractors and machinery will be the featured implements. (See the history of the featured tractor at: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/International_Harvester.)  The show is open to all exhibitors, including non-members.

On the weekend previous to the annual show,  the annual antique tractor pull will be held.  The date for the 2008 Elkhorn Valley Antique Tractor Pull is Sunday, September 21, 2008.  Location will be at the Sarpy County Fairgrounds in Springfield, NE.  The pull begins at 11:00am and ends around 7:00 pm. 

The club will hold  its "SHINE & SHOW", a single-day exhibit of tractors only, on May 18, 2008, at the Bass Pro Shop in Council Bluffs, Iowa; this is just north of Interstates I-80 and I-29. The club also has a “Tractor Ride for Charity” on June 8, 2008.  Both of these events are opportunities for members to get together, show their equipment and share ideas regarding restoration.

Antique tractor pulls are also sponsored at various locations in Iowa and Nebraska during the year. Dates vary due to availability of equipment and locations.
